Membership Committee
The membership committee executes two
distinct functions within the chamber, to recruit and
then retain members. We have a wonderful
team of people who
work hard to do our businesses and volunteer for the
chamber.
Most recruitment is accomplished through each of our
community partners who hand out our chamber packets when
they deliver business licenses. Thank you Valerie for
getting this program going. We are having a record year
so the process is working.
We are constantly learning more about how we should help
retain members and the more people we have on our
committee the better job we will be doing. Thus far
we’ve developed the following processes to help retain
members:

Call members at least annually with a
short questionnaire about how the chamber is doing
for them

Call new members within one week of
signing up

Update and assemble an adequate
number of New Member Packets so all the Executive
Director must do when she signs up a new member is
to put a label on the packet and mail it.

New Member Packets should contain
this sheet of committee descriptions and a sign up
sheet for all committees
-
Meet members at luncheons and help
introduce them around the membership
-
Develop other ways to promote members
to one another and to the community at-large
This committee meets the 4th Tuesday of
each month at 2:00 PM and we’ve been meeting at the
chamber conference room, but it appears we need more
space so the meeting location may be somewhat variable.
The meetings are being held to 1 ˝ hours so we can get
our work done and get you back to your business. In
addition to the meeting each member may spend and hour a
month executing committee activities so the work load is
small.
